What is LVP Flooring?
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring is an affordable, waterproof or resistant flooring option that imitates wood flooring.

LVP is the fastest-growing flooring category in the US because of its versatility, affordability, and wide range of style options.

As the name suggests, LVP comes in the form of planks that are installed by clicking them together, gluing them to the floor, or sticking them to the floor using a pre-applied adhesive.
A traditional LVP is created using 4 layers:

-
Wear Layer – The transparent top coating that protects the plank against scratches, stains, and fading.

-
Decorative Image – Gives the plank its wooden appearance. It is a thin digital image that is adhered to the vinyl core.

-
Vinyl Core – The main component of an LVP floor. This core is flexible and waterproof.

-
Backing Layer – The waterproof, vinyl finishing layer that prevents mold and mildew.
